This is Qurban Al Mubarak 2020 performed by Al Falah Academy Singapore. In the challenging period of Covid 19, we managed to carry out this Ibadah without compromising on the quality.

Even though Ustaz was not able to travel due to the Covid restrictions yet we were able to appoint the Asatizah in Indonesia to carry out as per the usual way following the MUSTAHAB etiquettes.

We managed to assist a total of 4250 families in the surrounding village and in the mountaineous region.

Every year we allow Singaporeans to eat their Qurban meat with their family. Fellow volunteer brothers come together in helping to deliver the Qurban meat to the participants. This Qurban is carried out in Australia by a Muslim slaughterer and Air flown to Singapore.

We managed to assist 2290 underprivileged families here in Singapore with the Australia Qurban meat.

This wouldn’t be possible without the support of fellow Singaporean who brought smiles to these underprivileged.

This is Mass Sadaqah Indonesia & India 2020 performed by Al Falah Academy Singapore. It was supported and contributed by good-hearted Singaporeans where we managed to feed around 900 underprivileged families in India and 725 families in Indonesia. The event was concluded with Khatamul Quran & Dua for all the participants.

To gain the pleasure of Almighty Allaah, all the aspects of Sunnah and Mustahab etiquettes were carried out during slaughtering. This is performed considerably with the best humane method to minimise the pain for the animal. Namely, sharpening and washing knife after each slaughter, slaughtering swiftly, reciting prayers to calm the animal down, segregation between slaughtering animal and the alive and many others.

Please do support us in this good effort to feed many and to reach out to the needy. Our heartfelt thanks to all those who have supported and helped out for this great cause, May Almighty Allah reward them all.

Ameen Ya Rabbal Aalameen

Tahneek

Tahneek should be done with the new born child. This is the practice of chewing and softening a date, and placing a little of it on the palate of the child. If the date is not available, one may apply anything sweet (like honey or syrup) to the child’s palate.

The scholars have written that through this Sunnah act of tahneek, the veins and muscles of the child are strengthened. The dental palate, the jaws and mouth are made active, thereby making it easy for the child to draw milk from the breast of the mother.

Tahneek is commendable (Mustahab) In this regard, it is narrated from Abu Moosa (RA) that he said, ‘A son was born at our place, I bought him to the Messenger of Allah (SAS) who named him Ibrahim, and performed his tahneek with a date. He then made dua of barakah (blessings for him) and handed him to me’. (Bukhari, Muslim).

Tahleeq(Cukur Rambut)

1. It is established from the Sunnah that the head of the child is to be shaved on the seventh day after the birth:

From Samurah (radiyallaahu `anhu) that Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallaam) said:

“A child is held in pledge by his `aqeeqah that is slaughtered on his behalf on the seventh day, and he is named and his head is shaved.”
Reported by Ahmad (7/5), Abu Dawood (2838), At-Tirmidhee (1522). It was graded Saheeh by: At-Tirmidhee, Al-Haakim, Abdur-Razzaaq Al-Ishbeelee and others.

3. An issue: Should the hair of a baby girl be shaved?

In this there is some differing between the Scholars, but what is apparent is that the head of the baby girl is also to be shaved for the following reasons:

Maalik Ibn Anas (d.179H, rahimahullaah) narrated in Al-Muwatta (2/501) from Ja`far Ibn Muhammad, from his father who said:

“Faatimah the daughter of Allaah’s Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam) weighed the hair of Hasan, Husayn, Zaynab and Umm Kulthoom, and she gave its weight in silver as charity.” and this is supported by the statement of the Messenger (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam):

“And shave his head.”
Furthermore the Prophet (salallaahu `alaihi wassallam) explained the wisdom behind removing the hair of the new-born because it is harmful saying: “And remove from him harm.”

So this encompasses every new-born, whether it be male or female, and Allaah knows best.

Why perform your Qurban with us AFASG ?

This is an important question every person who intend to perform Qurban should know and Insha Allaah in this page we can help shed some light on why you should choose us, Insha Allaah

As we all know Qurban is an Ibadah (worship) in Islam therefore every Muslim should try their best to perform it in the highly encouraged manner as possible. And there’s no better way to perform it other than the way of our Prophet Muhammad s.a.w.

In Al Falah Academy Sg we makesure that every part of the Qurban is done correctly. Hence we travel to the particular country to carry out survey and perform research on the condition of the place and also on the information of residents who lives in that area. Upon that we conclude the number of livestocks we desire to slaughter base on the needs.

In our academy we ensure that Ustaz Muhd Ferozudeen slaughters all the livestock following the Mustahab etiquettes. The mission in performing Qurban with us is to revive the sunnah and to perform it with mustahab etiquettes so that our Ibadah becomes a quality one.

So why Us ?

1) We try to make it as AFFORDABLE as possible

2) We try to that ANIMAL WELFARE is well taken care I.e Feeding it very well before the Slaughter, trainings given to Volunteers on how Animal should be handled

3) Insha Allaah All livestock shall be HAND SLAUGHTERED ONLY by Ustaz Muhammad Ferozudeen Al Hafiz according to the Mustahab etiquettes.

Sadaqah

When a man passes away, his good deeds will also come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (ceaseless charity), a knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (for the deceased)” Narrated by Abu Hurairah, Sahih Muslim When you provide a family with a food package, you not only feed them but also bring smile and contentment to their faces.

What more at providing clean water for the needies, this type of charity is continuous and its rewards are reaped by both the donor and receiver, even after the person giving it has left this earth.

At Al Falah Academy SG, we facilitate many projects like this, from providing clean water supply, food packages and all year round Nazar, Aqiqah and Sadaqah contributions. Help us to give Sadaqah Jariyah, and allow others the chance to build a better future.

Indeed this is a beautiful sadaqah.

Aqiqah

The performance of Aqiqah is highly encouraged (sunnah). It is to be performed by the parents or the guardians of the child. Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companions used to perform Aqiqah when they were bestowed with a newborn.

It is recommended to perform Aqiqah within the first week (and ideally on the seventh day) if not possible, then in the fourteenth, if not, in the twenty-first, if not, then at anytime. In addition, it is the recommended Sunnah for parents to give Sadaqah of equal value to the weight in gold of their baby’s hair (when it is shaved on the seventh day after birth)

There are many benefits to the performance of Aqiqah. One is announcing the birth of the baby. Secondly, certain suffering will be removed from the baby and the child will be blessed. Most importantly being bestowed a child is a great blessing from the Creator hence we thank Allah by feeding family members, neighbors, and friends. The poor should be included in the feeding event.

Hadith references regarding Aqiqah:

Sahih Bukhari Book 66. Sacrifice on the Occasion of a Birth (Aqiqah)

Narrated By Salman bin ‘Amir Ad-Dabbi: I heard Allah’s Apostle saying, “Aqiqah is to be offered for a (newly born) boy, so slaughter (an animal) for him, and relieve him of his suffering.” (Note: It has been quoted in Fateh-aL-Bari that the majority of the Religious Scholars agrees to the Hadith narrated in Sahih At-Tirmidhi that the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) was asked about Aqiqah and he ordered 2 sheep for a boy and one sheep for a girl and that is his tradition “Sunnah”).

2.What is the ruling in inviting a non-muslim to partake in a feast of cooked Qurban meat?

The act of performing the Qurban is a personal act of which we will be judged by Almighty Allah by the degree of our Taqwa (god-consciousness) in performing that act.

Another aspect of taqwa is the social consciousness whereby the meat thereof is shared with the community as being prescribed by Almighty Allaah.

1. Can a person eat the meat of his own sacrificial animal for Qurban Nazar?

If the Qurban performed is a consequence of a nazar ( i.e a promise made to God ) then it is not allowable for that person to partake the meat of the Qurban. All the meat has to be distributed to the poor and needy. (Mugniyul muhtaj 4:335)

2. Can we eat the meat of our own sacrificial animal for Qurban?

A portion of the meat can be eaten by those who performed the Qurban. Ibnu Abbas when elaborating the ways of the Prophet with regard to Qurban, said: “The Prophet gave a third to his own family, a third to his neighbours and a third to those who asks.” (Mugniyul muhtaj4:335

3.There is a view that we should eat a portion of the meat of the Qurban animal, can we decide to distribute all of the meat?

The sunnah is a third of the meat is for the household who perform the Qurban, a third for the neighbour and friends and the final third for the needy and poor. But then there is a Hadith narrated by Bukhari and Muslim from Salim r.a : “Let not one of you keeps the meat of the Qurban for more than 3 days.” More than 3 days of meat supply indicate that the portion of the household cannot be to such an extent that the need of the poor has not been addressed adequately. IT IS VIRTOUS FOR ON TO DISTRIBUTE ALL THE MEAT EXCEPT FOR A MORSEL. AND TAKE BLEESINGS FROM HAVING IT. THIS IS ACTING UPON THE QURAN AYAH, AND THE PRACTICE OF THE COMPANIONS. (Mugniyul muhtaj4:335)

1. Should a person personally slaughter his own sacrificial animal for Qurban?

It is virtuous (Sunnah) if one can slaughter his own sacrificial animal for Qurban but it is permissible for him to ask someone else to do this duty. As narrated by Ahmad and Muslim, “The Prophet Shallallahu‘Alaihi Wa Sallam performed Qurban on 100 camels: 63 of which he slaughtered personally and 37 others he gave Ali ibni Abi Talib Radiallaahu Anhu to complete it.” (Mugniyul Muhtaj4:327)

2. Can a person appoint somebody else to perform his Qurban at a distant location?

It is a common practice to appoint somebody else to perform one’s Qurban – it can be the committee of the local mosque, a local goat or cattle rearing business or relevant authorities as being the case in Makkah when huge number of sheep were slaughtered for the pilgrims. This is allowable so as to allow more muslims to participate in this ibadah. (Mugniyul muhtaj 4:327)

3. Can a person appoint somebody else to slaughter his Qurban livestock?

It is virtuous to slaughter one’s own Qurban as its the way Prophet did it. However for those unable to perform it, then it is permissible to appoint somebody else to do it. It is better to appoint a Muslim who can fulfill this act according to the prescribed method. And also preferable to be present at the time of Qurban. (Mugniyul muhtaj 4:327)
